A website redesign in El Paso usually starts with a site the owner is tired of: built years ago, hard to read on a phone, with a “Se habla español” line where Spanish pages should be. The urge is to tear it down and start over. The catch is that the old site may be part of the reason the phone still rings.
What an old site still earns
Every page Google has indexed has an address, and some of those addresses carry years of signals: a link from a directory, a news story about your shop, a page that ranks when someone on the Northeast side searches for brake repair. Throw the old addresses away and those signals point at a “page not found.” The new site goes live looking better and the calls drop, and it can take months to work out why.
How the move keeps what works
Google’s guidance for moving a site is specific. List every old address, decide where each one should go, and send it there with a permanent redirect, a 301 or a 308, kept in place for as long as possible and generally for at least a year. Google also warns that rankings move around during a site move before they settle. That is the honest version: a careful redesign protects what you earned, and it cannot promise nothing moves.
We build the list from your sitemap, Search Console and analytics where you have them, then crawl the site for whatever they missed: an old PDF of the menu, a coupon page, the Spanish page someone added years ago and forgot.
What changes and what stays
The parts customers see change: the design, the speed on a phone, the Spanish, the tap-to-call button. The parts Google relies on stay or get better: the addresses that rank, the text that answers the search, the page titles. A page you drop redirects to the closest page that answers the same question, never to the home page by default. The domain usually stays, and so do the reviews and links that point to it.
What’s included
- A free sample of the new home page.
- On a private link you open on your phone, so you can hold it up next to the site you have now. No obligation.
- An inventory of your current site.
- Every page, image, PDF and form, plus which pages bring traffic and links, from Search Console and analytics when you have them.
- A redirect map.
- Each old address matched to its new page with a 301, so nothing that earned a link or a ranking ends on an error page or gets dumped on the home page.
- Content moved, then corrected.
- Copy that ranks comes over, with stale hours, phone numbers and services fixed. Titles and descriptions that work are kept.
- A new design, phone first.
- Layout, type and photos chosen for your business, fast on cellular data, in English, Spanish or both.
- Your domain, or a planned move.
- The same domain in most projects. When it changes, the redirects cover the new domain and Google is told through Search Console's Change of Address tool.
- Launch checks.
- Every redirect tested, a new sitemap submitted, the Google Business Profile link updated, and the forms and call buttons tried on a phone.
- Thirty days of watching.
- Search Console checked for pages Google cannot find, and any missed redirect fixed.
- Everything in your name.
- Domain, hosting, Google accounts and site files registered to you, with every login at handoff and no monthly website fee.
How it works
The same order every time: nothing is built, and nothing is paid, until you have seen your sample and the written quote.
Send us your current site
A call, a WhatsApp message or the quote form with your site's address: what works, what does not, and what customers complain about. A person reads it and replies the way you chose.
Your free sample
The new home page on a private link, beside a fixed written quote that says how many pages move over and what happens to the rest.
You approve
Say yes to the sample and the quote, and send the logins for the domain, hosting, Search Console, analytics and your Google Business Profile. That starts the clock.
Live in as little as 48 hours
We build the new site, move the content, write the redirect map, test every redirect, publish and submit the new sitemap. Sites with hundreds of pages get their own dated timeline in the quote.
Training
A session with you or your staff: what changed, where things moved, and how to update hours and photos on the new site. You get every login.
The first 30 days
We watch Search Console for addresses Google cannot find, fix any redirect that slipped through, and compare traffic with the weeks before the switch.
As little as 48 hours of lead time covers most projects. Larger sites, online stores and sites with booking or ordering systems get their own dated timeline in the written quote.
Rodco Systems consistently undercuts local competition, with higher quality.
And you get the choice to own your website instead of renting it.
- No monthly website fee. The only recurring cost is your domain, registered in your name.
- A fixed written quote before any work starts, and a free sample of your home page before you pay.
- Live in as little as 48 hours after you approve your sample and send your details.
- Yours to keep: domain, files, hosting and every account in your name.
Questions
Will I lose my Google rankings if I redesign my website?
You can, and it is the most common way a redesign goes wrong: pages disappear or change address, and the links and rankings they earned point at an error page. Google's guidance for a site move is to map each old URL to its new one with a permanent redirect (301 or 308) and keep those redirects for as long as possible, generally at least a year. We do that for every page that gets traffic or links. Google also says rankings fluctuate for a while after a move and then settle, so nobody can honestly promise zero change.
What is a redirect map?
A spreadsheet of every address on your current site, pulled from the sitemap, Search Console and analytics, with where each one goes on the new site. Pages that keep their address stay put. Renamed pages get a 301 to the new address. Pages you drop point to the closest page that answers the same question, not to the home page by default. You get the map at handoff.
Do you keep my existing content?
The pages and text that bring in traffic move over, edited where they are out of date: old hours, a phone number that changed, a service you stopped offering. Thin pages that bring nothing get merged into a stronger page and redirected there. Page titles and descriptions that rank are kept or improved, not rewritten for the sake of it.
Can you redesign a site you didn't build?
Yes, whether it runs on Wix, Squarespace, WordPress or something a nephew coded. What we need is access to the domain and, ideally, to Search Console and analytics. If those logins are with a former developer or lost, getting them back is the first step, and we walk you through it.
Does my domain change?
Usually not, and keeping it is the simplest way to keep rankings. If you are renaming the business or moving to a new domain, the redirect map covers the move to the new domain too, and we tell Google about it with the Change of Address tool in Search Console.
How long does a redesign take?
Most redesigns are live in as little as 48 hours after you approve the sample and the quote and we have the logins. Sites with hundreds of pages, an online store or a booking system get their own dated timeline in the quote. The switch itself is timed for a quiet stretch for your business, not the afternoon before your busiest weekend.
What happens after launch?
For the first 30 days we watch Search Console for addresses Google cannot find, fix any redirect the map missed, and compare traffic and calls with the weeks before the switch.
How much does a website redesign cost?
It depends on how many pages the old site has, how many of them bring in visits worth keeping and whether it needs Spanish pages too. For an El Paso business, the free sample of the new home page and a fixed written quote come before you pay anything. Rodco Systems consistently undercuts local competition, with higher quality, and the finished site is yours to keep.
