The business landscape here
El Paso County is more than the city. The Census Bureau counts 877,858 residents in 2025, and about 112,758 of them live outside any city, town or village, in Census places with names many outsiders have never heard. Rodco Systems, a web designer based in El Paso, drives out to meet businesses anywhere in the county, and the towns below each have their own roads, crops, languages and customers. Horizon City, Socorro and San Elizario have their own pages.
Canutillo
Canutillo sits about 12 miles northwest of downtown El Paso on the east bank of the Rio Grande, settled in 1824 after an 1823 land grant. About 5,960 people live there, with a median age near 31, and nearly half speak Spanish and speak English less than very well. A Canutillo business should lead with Spanish.
Vinton
The Village of Vinton, 15 miles northwest of downtown, takes its name from a Southern Pacific surveyor. It is the county’s fastest-growing incorporated place: 2,446 residents in 2025, a third more than in 2020. Its median household income, about $66,000, is the highest of the towns on this page. New residents are still choosing their mechanic, their dentist and their taquería, and Google is where they look.
Westway
Westway is a Census place of about 3,500 people right beside Vinton, with 92.7% speaking Spanish at home and 73.4% speaking English less than very well, the highest share on this page. For a business here, the Spanish site is the main site. The Google listing should say “next to Vinton” so people from outside can find it.
Homestead Meadows
Homestead Meadows North and South, east of El Paso, hold about 12,455 people. The North section spreads over 15.6 square miles and 86.7% of its homes are owned by the people living in them. That is a market of homeowners on large lots, which means roofing, HVAC, fencing, landscaping and auto work, with addresses spread out far enough that a contractor’s service-area page needs to name the place.
Fort Bliss
The Fort Bliss Census place has 11,460 residents, a median age of 21.8 and no owner-occupied homes. The post as a whole is the area’s largest employer, with 41,220 direct employees in the Comptroller’s 2023 count. Soldiers rotate in and out on orders, so the businesses that do well with them are the ones that are easy to find on a phone the week a family arrives.
Clint
Clint, 16 miles southeast of downtown at State Highway 20 and Farm Road 1110, was named for early settler Mary Clinton Collins and grew fruit and alfalfa in the 1890s. Today it is a town of about 1,060 people, up 16% since 2020. Clint businesses also serve the farms and homes around it, so a site should list the roads and nearby places it covers, not just the town limits.
Fabens
Fabens, 25 miles southeast of downtown, was named for a Southern Pacific officer around 1900 and grew on cotton after the Franklin Canal opened in 1916. About 4,800 people live there, with a median age of 47.7, the oldest of the towns on this page. The phone number should be the easiest thing on the page to tap, and the hours on Google should always be current.
Tornillo
Tornillo, about 35 miles from El Paso on State Highway 20, was platted in 1909, grew cotton at scale from 1918 and had the largest cotton gin in Texas by 1990. Pecans have mattered since 1970. The Marcelino Serna port, finished in 2016, connects Tornillo with Guadalupe, Chihuahua, and saw about 1.7 million people and 36,675 trucks come north in 2025. Of 1,341 residents, 57% speak Spanish and speak English less than very well, so the farms, the shops and the businesses serving port traffic all need Spanish first.

What that means for your website and marketing
Spanish leads in most of the county. Westway (73% limited English), Tornillo (57%), Canutillo (48%) and Vinton (44%) all sit far above El Paso city's 24%. A business serving these towns should write its Spanish pages first, answer WhatsApp in Spanish and keep the English version just as complete for everyone else.
Name the town, not just the county. A Census place like Westway or Homestead Meadows is a name neighbors type into Google but strangers have never heard. Service-area pages and the Google Business Profile should list each place you serve with a landmark the outside world knows, such as 'next to Vinton' or 'east of El Paso'.
The Tornillo port puts traffic on roads that look rural on a map. About 1.7 million people and 36,675 trucks came north through Marcelino Serna in 2025. A restaurant, tire shop or customs broker between Fabens and Tornillo is found by travelers on Google Maps, so hours, photos and the phone number on the Google listing decide most of those visits.
Homestead Meadows is homeowners on big lots. With 86.7% of homes owner-occupied in the North section and 15.6 square miles to cover, roofing, HVAC, fencing and landscaping crews should name both Homestead Meadows sections in their service areas, because the map results favor businesses close to the searcher.
Fort Bliss is young and on the move. The post's Census place has a median age of 21.8 and no owner-occupied homes. Barbers, food, auto and phone repair near the post need a fast mobile page, a military discount where it can be seen and reviews that keep coming, because the customer base turns over with every set of orders.

Questions about El Paso County
Will you really drive out to Fabens or Tornillo?
Yes. El Paso County is our home county, so the kickoff and the main reviews happen at your business, whether that is a shop in Canutillo or a farm office in Tornillo. Between visits we work by phone, video or WhatsApp.
My shop is in Westway. Should the site say Westway, Vinton or El Paso?
Use the name your customers say, then add the ones next to it. Westway is a Census place of about 3,500 people right beside the Village of Vinton, and many people outside the area will not know the name. A line like 'Westway, next to Vinton, on the Upper Valley side of El Paso County' tells a stranger where you are and still matches what neighbors type into Google.
Do my customers outside the city really need Spanish?
In most of the county, more than in the city. The Census Bureau's 2020-2024 survey finds 73% of Westway residents and 57% in Tornillo speak Spanish and speak English less than very well. In El Paso city it is 24%, and at Fort Bliss under 7%. Outside the post, Spanish is often the language that gets the call.
My business is on the way to the Tornillo port. Who drives past?
More people than most owners guess. The Marcelino Serna port in Tornillo, finished in 2016 to replace the old Fabens crossing, handled about 1.7 million people entering the U.S. in 2025, in 786,338 cars and on foot, plus 36,675 trucks. Travelers headed to or from the port find food, fuel and repairs on Google Maps, so correct hours, photos and a phone number in your Google Business Profile matter more than a big website.
We sell pecans and cotton. Does a farm in the valley need a website?
A small one, usually. Tornillo has grown cotton at scale since 1918, and the Handbook of Texas says the town had the largest cotton gin in the state by 1990, with pecans important since 1970. A buyer or a packer checking you out wants a page that shows what you grow, how much, how to order and how to reach you, in English and Spanish.
Is Vinton growing enough to bother with Google?
It is the fastest-growing incorporated place in the county. The Census Bureau's estimates put the Village of Vinton at 2,446 residents in 2025, up a third from 1,835 in 2020, while El Paso city grew less than 1%. New residents have not picked their regular shops yet, which is the best time to be easy to find.
