How customers choose

A traveler finds your hotel on Google, checks the photos on a travel site, reads a few reviews and then books wherever it’s easiest. If your own site is slow, unclear about the total price or missing a book button on the page they landed on, the booking goes through someone else’s checkout. Hotel website design is about making the direct path the easy one. Rodco Systems builds hotel websites in El Paso, Las Cruces and Juárez with a book button on every page and total prices shown the way the rules require.

How do guests choose a hotel here?

By the trip. The reasons to stay in this region are specific: White Sands had 729,096 visitors in 2023 who spent $44.5 million in nearby communities, Hueco Tanks lets 70 people a day onto North Mountain by permit, and Franklin Mountains State Park puts almost 27,000 acres of trails inside El Paso. Add Fort Bliss, with 28,784 active-duty soldiers in 2023 and the families who visit them. A guest searching for any of those trips is looking for a place to sleep near it.

Then they compare. Google shows your rate next to the travel sites when you have a free booking link, and Google charges nothing for that link. The guest who sees your own price, with fees included, on your own site, has a reason to book direct.

What does your site have to do?

Get the booking. The book button sits on every page and opens your booking engine with the dates already filled in. Rates show as the total, mandatory fees included, which the FTC fee rule requires of hotels and motels anyway. Room pages carry their own photos and the facts people ask about: beds, parking, pets, check-in.

The rest of the site answers questions before they become phone calls. A policies page covers cancellation and deposits. Trip pages cover White Sands, Hueco Tanks and the trailheads. A group form takes room blocks for weddings and teams.

Where do the travel sites fit?

Next to you, not instead of you. Keep the listings that bring you guests; commissions there are set by each contract. The site’s job is to make sure a guest who already knows your name, often from Google, books on your engine with nothing in between.

What does the page look like? An illustrative wireframe

Picture a phone screen. At the top: the hotel’s name, a photo of the best room and a date picker with Book now. Below that, the total price for tonight, fees included, then the rooms with photos and bed sizes. Then the trip pages, from White Sands to Hueco Tanks to a weekend at Fort Bliss, the address with a map link and a reviews line linking to Google. On the Spanish page, the same layout with WhatsApp beside the phone number.

That is an illustrative wireframe, not a client’s site. Your rooms, your rates and your part of the region go in.

Region notes

El Paso

El Paso County had 99 hotels and motels with payroll and about 2,560 jobs in them in 2025 (BLS). The reasons to stay are close by: Franklin Mountains State Park has almost 27,000 acres inside the city, and Hueco Tanks limits North Mountain access to 70 people a day, so climbers book their permits and their beds months out. Fort Bliss had 28,784 active-duty soldiers in 2023, and their families visit. A property near the airport, the base or the trailheads should have a page for each of those trips.

Southern New Mexico

White Sands National Park had 729,096 visitors in 2023 who spent $44.5 million in nearby communities (NPS). Las Cruces sits on the road from El Paso to White Sands, and Doña Ana County had 36 hotels and motels with payroll in 2025 (BLS). A Las Cruces hotel's site should answer the White Sands visitor's questions: when to go, what to book first and how far it is from the lobby. NMSU move-in, graduation and game weekends belong on the calendar as well.

Ciudad Juárez

INEGI lists 113 hotels and motels in Juárez, and 24 of them list a website. Mexican tourism law asks for the total cost up front, and consumer law for prices in pesos with taxes included, with dollars allowed beside them. The site goes Spanish first with a full English version for guests from El Paso and beyond. Booking forms collect personal data, so the site needs an aviso de privacidad, which we write for you.

Questions

Can my hotel's own website show up on Google next to the travel sites?

Yes, through Google's free booking links. Hotel partners pay no fee for them, and Google collects nothing for the placement or the clicks. Google ranks the links on consumer preference, value, the landing page experience and how accurate your prices have been. If your reservation system already connects to Google, your provider can often switch it on; we check that first and set up the Hotel Center side if needed.

Do I have to show the resort fee or service fee in the advertised rate?

Under the FTC's Rule on Unfair or Deceptive Fees, a hotel, motel or inn that shows a price has to show the total price, including mandatory fees, more prominently than any other price. Government taxes and optional add-ons can be shown separately. We build the rate display so the total is the big number.

Should I stop listing on Booking.com and Expedia?

No, if they bring you bookings. The goal of your own site is different: when a guest has already found you, often on Google, they should be able to book with you directly. Each travel site's commission is set by your contract with it, so we don't guess numbers; we make the direct path short.

How do I reach people coming for White Sands or Hueco Tanks?

With pages written for the trip. White Sands had 729,096 visitors in 2023 who spent $44.5 million in nearby communities, according to the National Park Service. Hueco Tanks issues North Mountain permits for 70 people a day, and visitors reserve them up to three months ahead, so climbers plan their stay early. A page per trip, with what to book first and how to get there from your door, answers those searches.

What does a Juárez hotel have to show on its site?

Mexico's Ley General de Turismo requires tourism providers to tell guests the prices, rates, conditions and total cost of what they book, and to honor prices and promotions as announced. Consumer law asks for prices in pesos with taxes included; dollars can go beside them. We set the rate pages up that way.

Can guests reserve by WhatsApp?

They can ask questions there. Google won't accept a messaging link as a reservation link, so the WhatsApp button lives on your site, next to the booking engine that actually confirms the room.

How much does a hotel website cost?

It depends on the number of room types, the languages and the booking engine you connect. The site is quoted as a fixed price in writing next to a free sample of your home page; the booking engine charges its own fees, separate from ours. Rodco Systems consistently undercuts local competition, with higher quality, and charges no monthly website fee, so the direct-booking site stays yours.
