How customers choose
People often pick a gym the week they decide to start: in January, before summer, after a doctor’s visit. They search, compare two or three places that are close, check whether a class fits before work, and look for a way to try it before signing anything. Gym website design comes down to that week. It needs a schedule they can read, a trial they can claim and membership terms that don’t hide anything. Rodco Systems builds gym and studio websites in El Paso, Las Cruces and Juárez, in both languages, with the class schedule and the trial sign-up up front.
How do people choose a gym here?
Distance and schedule first, then the trial. The Health & Fitness Association counted 81 million Americans with a fitness membership in 2025, about a quarter of everyone age 6 and up, and more than 100 million people used a gym, studio or club.
Locally there are plenty of options. El Paso County had 88 fitness centers with payroll in 2025, and INEGI lists 318 private gyms in Juárez, only 10 of them with a website. On the Mexican side, a gym with a real schedule page is rare. On the Texas side, the one whose schedule is current gets the first visit.
What does your site have to do?
Turn “maybe I’ll go” into a booked first class. That takes three things on every page: the schedule, the trial and a way to ask a question. The schedule shows class, coach, time and open spots, pulled from the booking software you already use when it can be embedded. The trial form says what’s included, when it ends and what it costs afterward. The question goes to a phone number and, on the Spanish pages, WhatsApp.
Google can take bookings too. If your scheduling software is a provider that works with Google, the Book button on your profile opens it directly; if not, it opens your schedule page.
What do the membership rules change on the page?
In Texas, a gym that counts as a health spa needs a certificate of registration from the Secretary of State to sell memberships, its contracts show the registration number, and a new member can cancel for a full refund within three business days. Online, a trial that rolls into a paid plan falls under federal law: every material term before the card field, clear consent before the first charge and a simple way to cancel.
We write the membership page to those rules: price, term, sign-up and annual fees, freeze policy and how to cancel, in plain words, with the contract linked.
What does the page look like? An illustrative wireframe
Picture a phone screen. At the top: the gym’s name, “Open today until 10 p.m.” and two buttons, Book a free class and Call. Below that, today’s schedule with class, coach and spots left, and a link to the full week. Then the membership options with price, term and how to cancel, the coaches with their certifications, the address with the cross street, and a reviews line linking to Google. On the Spanish page, the same layout with WhatsApp beside Call.
That is an illustrative wireframe, not a client’s site. Your classes, your coaches and your neighborhood go in.

Must-have features
A class schedule in text, changed in one place.
Embedded from your booking software or built as a page, never an image. Class, coach, time and spots left, readable by Google and by a screen reader.
A first-class or trial sign-up that says what happens next.
What the trial includes, when it ends, the price after it and how to cancel, all above the payment field, as the federal online rules require for trials that turn into billing.
Membership terms in plain words before checkout.
Price, term, sign-up and annual fees, freeze and cancellation rules. Under the Texas Health Spa Act a member has three business days to cancel for a full refund.
Booking from your Google profile.
A booking button through your scheduling provider when it works with Google, or a link to your schedule page.
Coach and trainer pages that stay factual.
Certifications by name, specialties and the classes each coach leads. Before-and-after claims stay off unless you can back them up.
Hours that match Google, by area.
Staffed hours, open-gym hours and holiday hours on the site and on the profile, so nobody drives over to a closed door at 5 a.m.
Spanish pages and a WhatsApp button.
Questions about the inscripción, the schedule or a class for kids come in by WhatsApp on both sides of the border.

Region notes
El Paso
El Paso County had 88 fitness centers with payroll and about 870 jobs in them in 2025 (BLS), from big-box gyms to one-room boxing clubs. People choose by distance and schedule, so name your part of town (Westside, Eastside, Northeast, Lower Valley) and your cross street on the site and on Google. About 155,000 residents read Spanish more comfortably than English; a Spanish schedule page and a WhatsApp button bring in the parents asking about kids' classes. Texas's Health Spa Act applies here, so the membership page carries the three-day cancellation right if your gym is covered.
Southern New Mexico
Doña Ana County had 14 fitness centers with payroll in 2025 (BLS). The Texas Health Spa Act stops at the state line: a Las Cruces studio follows New Mexico law, while the federal rules for online trials apply in both states. NMSU counted 16,678 students on its main campus at the fall 2026 census, so a studio near campus should have its semester offer live by early August. About 29% of Las Cruces residents speak Spanish at home.
Ciudad Juárez
INEGI lists 318 private gyms in Juárez. 85% have five people or fewer, and 10 list a website. Without a site, the schedule and the prices get retyped into every WhatsApp chat; a page with the schedule, the inscripción and the mensualidad lets you send one link instead. Prices go in pesos with IVA included, with dollars beside them if you take clients from El Paso. The page is Spanish first, and the sign-up form comes with an aviso de privacidad, which we write for you.

Questions
Does my gym have to register with the Texas Secretary of State?
If it is a health spa under the Texas Health Spa Act, yes. Section 702.101 says nobody may operate a health spa or sell memberships in one without a health spa operator's certificate of registration. The Act leaves some places out, such as tax-exempt organizations, private clubs owned by their members and places run only to teach dance or aerobic exercise (Section 702.003). If you aren't sure which side you're on, settle it with the Secretary of State or your lawyer before the membership page goes live.
What does the membership page have to say?
For a registered health spa, the contract is written, signed by the member and shows your registration or identification number (Section 702.301). A member can cancel for a full refund by written notice sent by midnight of the third business day after the contract date (Section 702.307). The page sums up price, term, fees and how to cancel in plain words, and links the full contract.
Can a free trial roll into a paid membership automatically?
Online, only if the sign-up follows the federal Restore Online Shoppers' Confidence Act: every material term disclosed before you take billing information, the customer's express informed consent before the first charge, and a simple way to stop recurring charges (15 U.S.C. 8403). We build trial forms that way. The price after the trial, the date it starts and how to cancel sit above the card field, not in a footnote.
Should the class schedule be a picture we post every week?
No. Google and screen readers can't read a picture, and last week's image stays up longer than anyone intends. The schedule goes on the page as text, from your booking software when it offers an embed, so a change you make at the front desk shows on the site the same minute.
Can people book a class straight from Google?
Often, yes. Google Business Profile shows a booking button through supported scheduling providers, or a booking link you add yourself. If your software is a supported provider, we connect it; if not, the button opens your schedule page.
Should we put prices on the site?
That's your decision. Whatever you publish has to match the contract. For a Juárez location, Mexican law asks for prices in pesos with taxes included, so the inscripción and the mensualidad show in MXN, with dollars beside them if you like.
How do I get more gym members?
Lower the cost of trying you. Offer a free class or trial pass people can claim online, keep the schedule current, put prices and membership terms in plain view, and collect reviews that mention the coaches. Run ads in the weeks people decide to start, January and late spring, pointed at the trial page, then follow up with everyone who claimed a trial. Gyms in El Paso, Las Cruces and Juárez can do all of it in English and Spanish.
