How customers choose
A driver with a warning light on the dash isn’t browsing. They search “mechanic near me” or “brake repair El Paso”, look at the stars and the hours, and call the first shop that’s open and looks like it knows their car. An auto repair shop website has to win that moment: hours up top, the work you do and the makes you know, and a call or booking button that is never more than a thumb away. Rodco Systems builds auto repair websites for shops in El Paso, Las Cruces and Juárez, in English and Spanish, and can have yours live in as little as 48 hours after you approve the sample.
What does a driver check before calling?
Whether you’re open, first. If you work Saturdays, say so at the top of the site and in your Google Business Profile, because a driver with a weekday job is looking for exactly that. Then whether you do the job: brakes, A/C, transmissions, diagnostics, emissions testing. Each one gets its own page, because each one is its own search. Then whether you’ve seen their car before. A short line on the makes you know best saves a call that ends in “we don’t work on those”.
Inspections changed in 2025
Since January 1, 2025, Texas no longer requires a safety inspection for non-commercial vehicles before registration. El Paso County still requires emissions tests. A shop page that still advertises “state inspection” for every car confuses people. If you test, say “emissions testing” and explain who needs it; if you also inspect commercial vehicles, give that its own line.
The dealer warranty question
Owners of newer cars may worry that servicing outside the dealer voids the warranty. The FTC says otherwise: you don’t have to use the dealer for maintenance or repairs to keep a warranty, and a dealer can’t deny coverage just because someone else did the work. A short note with the FTC link, and a reminder to keep every receipt, answers the question before the customer asks it.
ASE, said honestly
ASE certification takes two years of qualified experience and a passed test for each area, and technicians retest every five years. Put certifications on the site by technician and area, current ones only, with a photo of the certificates. “ASE certified” as a blanket claim, when one tech’s certificate lapsed last year, is the kind of line a customer remembers.
Talleres across the river
INEGI lists 3,248 auto repair and maintenance businesses in Juárez, and 23 of them list a website. A taller with a Spanish page, prices in pesos and a WhatsApp button for photos of the problem has very little company in that directory. The page promises what Mexican law requires anyway: a written presupuesto before the repair, new parts unless the customer approves others, and a receipt that lists the parts, the labor and the guarantee.

Region notes
El Paso
El Paso County had 393 auto repair and maintenance shops with payroll in 2025, so a driver searching "mechanic near me" sees plenty of names. Hours matter: if you open Saturday, say it first. El Paso County is still an emissions county after Texas dropped safety inspections for most cars in 2025, so a shop that tests should say "emissions testing" plainly and explain who needs it. 63% of city residents age 5 and up speak Spanish at home, and a Spanish page lets them describe the noise in the language they think in.
Southern New Mexico
Doña Ana County had 80 auto repair and maintenance shops with payroll in 2025, 37 of them general repair. Las Cruces sits where I-10 meets I-25 and has NMSU's main campus, so hours, the makes you work on and an online booking slot should be easy to find on every page. The Texas emissions copy stays off your New Mexico pages, and your own policies on written estimates and parts go on both.
Ciudad Juárez
INEGI lists 3,248 auto repair and maintenance businesses in Juárez, and only 23 list a website, so a taller with a real page is easy to find. The page leads in Spanish, lists the main services with prices in pesos, puts WhatsApp in every section and promises what Mexican consumer law already requires: a written presupuesto before the repair, new parts unless the customer agrees to others, and a receipt with parts, labor and guarantee. If you service cars with U.S. plates for customers who cross, an English page earns its keep.

Questions
Should my website say "ASE certified"?
Only for technicians who hold current certifications, and better by name and area (brakes, engine performance, A/C) than as a blanket claim. ASE certification takes at least two years of qualified work experience and a passed test for each area, with a retest every five years, so a lapsed certificate isn't one to advertise. ASE tells drivers to look for the sign and the patch, so a photo of your techs' certificates on the about page backs up the line.
Do customers still need a state inspection?
Not for most cars. Since January 1, 2025, non-commercial vehicles in Texas no longer need a safety inspection before registration. El Paso County is still an emissions county, so the emissions test remains, and commercial vehicles still need a safety inspection. If your shop tests, the site should say "emissions testing" and say who needs it, so nobody books a safety inspection they don't need.
Can I tell customers that servicing with us won't void their warranty?
Yes, in the FTC's words. The FTC says you don't have to use the dealer for repairs or maintenance to keep a warranty in effect, and that it is illegal for a dealer to deny coverage because someone else did the work. The exception is work or parts the warranty provides for free. We add a short note with a link to the FTC page and a reminder to keep every receipt.
Online booking or a phone number?
Both. Oil changes, emissions tests and tire work book well online. A noise, a warning light or a car that won't start is easier to explain on a call. The site puts a call button and a booking button side by side, and an AI receptionist set up for your shop can answer the overflow in English or Spanish and book the slot.
What should a taller in Juárez put on its site?
Prices in pesos for the main services, which Mexican consumer law asks service businesses to display, a WhatsApp button for photos and questions, and a path to the written presupuesto the law requires before a repair. The same law calls for new parts unless the customer approves others, and a receipt listing parts, labor and the guarantee, so the site can promise exactly that.
How do I get more customers for my auto repair shop?
Win the search that happens when the warning light comes on. Keep your Google Business Profile complete, with the right category, true hours including Saturday, and photos of the bays; ask every satisfied customer for a review; and give each common job (brakes, transmission, A/C) its own page. In El Paso and Las Cruces, a Spanish page helps too, because many drivers here speak Spanish at home.
