How customers choose

A plumbing emergency isn’t a shopping trip. Water is coming through the ceiling, the water heater just died, the kitchen drain backs up an hour before guests arrive, and they call the first plumber who looks local and answers. Plumber website design here is about winning that call: a button that’s always on the screen, hours that are true, and the license number that Texas rules require on your advertising. Rodco Systems builds plumber websites in El Paso, Las Cruces and Juárez with that button, the license line and Spanish pages, and the site is yours when it’s done.

What does the customer see first?

A phone screen. Your name, whether someone answers right now, and one button to call. Below that, the jobs you do, each one a link to its own page: water heaters, slab leaks, drain cleaning, gas lines, toilet replacement, repiping. Someone searching “water heater replacement El Paso” lands on the water heater page, not your home page, and the call button is waiting there too.

Google’s Local Services Ads treat plumbing as an urgent category and check insurance and licenses before they run. If you plan to use them, the site should already show the same business name and license Google will verify.

What has to be on the page?

Your Responsible Master Plumber’s license number. Texas plumbing rules require it on all advertising that asks for plumbing business, and your own website isn’t among the exceptions. If the site sends estimates, the first page of each needs the RMP’s name and number and the statement that plumbers are regulated by the Texas State Board of Plumbing Examiners. We build that into the footer and the estimate template so it’s never forgotten.

Hard water, toilets and the city’s side of the meter

El Paso Water calls its water moderately hard to hard. If you service water heaters or install softeners, give each its own page and describe the work honestly and leave the utility out of it: its FAQ says it doesn’t recommend softeners for drinking water.

The utility also pays $50 per WaterSense toilet, up to two per household every 10 years. On your toilet replacement page, that’s a link worth having. And a short note telling people that main breaks and sewer emergencies go to El Paso Water, at (915) 594-5500, option 6, saves you a wasted trip and makes you sound like the plumber who knows the city.

Calls you can’t take

They go to the next plumber on the list. A text goes back within a minute of a missed call. For nights you don’t staff, an AI receptionist set up for your business answers in English or Spanish and books the first morning slot, and the site explains how after-hours calls work.

Plomería across the river

In Juárez, let customers send the photo on WhatsApp. The Spanish page puts WhatsApp in every section, says “boiler” the way people do, and leads to a written presupuesto, which Mexican consumer law requires before the work.

What your site must do

  1. Phone call first

Must-have features

  1. A tap-to-call button on every screen.

Nobody with water on the floor fills out a form. The button stays at the bottom of the phone screen on every page.

  2. The RMP license number where Texas puts it.

On the site, which counts as advertising, and on the first page of every estimate the site sends, with the TSBPE statement.

  3. A page for each job people search for.

Water heaters, slab leaks, drain cleaning, gas lines, toilet replacement, repiping: separate searches, separate pages, each with its own call button.

  4. Honest hours and an after-hours plan.

Say when a person answers. If you don't staff nights, an AI receptionist books the first morning slot and the page says so.

  5. A 'call the utility' note.

Main breaks and sewer emergencies go to El Paso Water at (915) 594-5500, option 6. Telling people that saves you a wasted trip.

  6. Rebate links that send customers to the source.

El Paso Water's $50 WaterSense toilet rebate fits a toilet replacement page, linked to the utility's application.

  7. Missed-call text back and review requests.

A text within a minute of a missed call, and a review request after each job, both set up in your own accounts.

Region notes

El Paso

El Paso Water calls its water moderately hard to hard. If you service water heaters or install softeners, give each its own page, and don't put the utility's name behind a softener pitch, since its FAQ doesn't recommend them for drinking water. The utility's $50 WaterSense toilet rebate belongs on your toilet replacement page. Main breaks and sewer emergencies are the utility's job, at (915) 594-5500, option 6, and a site that says so sounds like a plumber who knows the city. El Paso County had 145 residential plumbing and HVAC contractors with payroll in 2025.

Southern New Mexico

New Mexico licenses plumbing under the CID's MM-1 classification, or MM-98 mechanical, and the license number goes on every written bid. A Las Cruces page carries that number instead of your Texas RMP number, and skips the El Paso Water rebate. Doña Ana County had 63 plumbing and HVAC contractors with payroll in 2025.

Ciudad Juárez

A Juárez plomero should let customers send a photo of the leak, the clogged drain or the boiler on WhatsApp. The Spanish page puts WhatsApp in every section, lists the common jobs with prices in pesos, and leads to a written presupuesto, which Mexican consumer law requires before the work, along with new parts unless the customer agrees to others. Say "boiler" for the water heater, the word people use on both sides of the border, and keep "calentador de agua" beside it once.

Questions

What do Texas plumbing rules require on my website?

The Responsible Master Plumber's license number. Texas plumbing rules require it on all advertising that asks for plumbing business, and the exceptions (national TV, franchisor internet ads, radio, promotional items, the sign at your shop, third-party listings) don't include your own website. A company can't advertise plumbing at all without an RMP on board. If the site sends estimates, the first page of each one needs the RMP's name and license number and the statement that plumbers are regulated by the Texas State Board of Plumbing Examiners, with the board's contact information, in 12-point type.

Should my site say we're open 24 hours?

Only if someone answers at 3 a.m. If you don't run nights, say when you answer and how fast you call back. An AI receptionist set up for your business can take after-hours calls in English or Spanish and book the first morning slot, and the site says exactly that. A page that also tells people when to call El Paso Water instead, for a main break or a sewer emergency, saves you trips and earns trust.

Can my site mention El Paso Water's toilet rebate?

Yes. El Paso Water pays $50 per WaterSense toilet that uses 1.28 gallons per flush or less, up to two per household every 10 years, if the customer applies within 60 days of purchase. On your toilet replacement page, that's a reason to pick the efficient model and to call a plumber to install it. We link the utility's page so the customer applies directly.

Should I build a water softener page?

If you install them, yes, but leave the utility out of the pitch. El Paso Water describes its water as moderately hard to hard, and its FAQ says it doesn't recommend softeners for drinking water. Describe what you install and what your customers ask for, and don't suggest the city recommends it.

What changes for a plumber in Las Cruces?

The license. New Mexico licenses plumbing contractors under the CID's MM-1 classification, or MM-98 mechanical, and every written bid needs the license number. Your Las Cruces pages carry that number, and the El Paso Water programs on your El Paso pages stay off them.

How do I get more customers for my plumbing business?

Answer first and look local. Keep a call button on every page, true hours, your RMP license line and a Google profile with service areas and recent reviews. Give water heaters, drain cleaning, leaks and softeners their own pages, because people search for the problem, not the trade. In El Paso, Las Cruces and Juárez, a WhatsApp button lets the customer send a photo of the leak before you drive out.
